Meet Our Team
Family leadership, local care coordinators, and experienced caregivers — the people who make our agency different.

Leadership
Colorado CareAssist is owned and operated by one family, not a franchise corporation. Every major decision — who we hire, how we train, what we charge — is made locally by people who live in the communities we serve.
Jason Shulman — Owner & Director
Jason founded Colorado CareAssist in 2012 after seeing how difficult it was for families to find reliable, transparent home care in Colorado. With a background in operations and technology, he built the agency around a simple idea: one flat rate that covers everything, no contracts, and real accountability. Jason personally oversees hiring standards, caregiver screening, and the technology systems — including the Digital Family Room — that keep families connected to their loved ones' care. He is involved in day-to-day operations and available to families who want to speak directly with the owner. Read his articles →
Teresa Shulman — Co-Owner & Care Operations
Teresa manages care operations, caregiver scheduling, and client relationships. With years of hands-on experience in home care coordination, she ensures that care plans are followed precisely and that families receive the communication and consistency they expect. Teresa works directly with families during the intake process and oversees the quality of care delivered across all service areas. Her focus on matching the right caregiver to the right client is a major reason Colorado CareAssist maintains high caregiver retention and client satisfaction.
Our Care Coordinators
Each region we serve has a dedicated care coordinator who manages client relationships, supervises caregivers, and serves as the primary point of contact for families. Care coordinators are not call center staff — they know their clients by name and understand the unique needs of each household.
Denver & Boulder Region
Our Denver and Boulder coordinator manages care across the Front Range from Denver County through Boulder County and Broomfield. This includes neighborhoods like Capitol Hill, Cherry Creek, Wash Park, Highlands, North Boulder, Table Mesa, Gunbarrel, and all surrounding communities.
(303) 757-1777Colorado Springs & Southern Region
Our southern Colorado coordinator serves El Paso County and Pueblo County, including Briargate, Broadmoor, Manitou Springs, Fountain, and Monument. This coordinator has deep experience working with military families and veterans from Fort Carson, Peterson Space Force Base, and the Air Force Academy.
(719) 428-3999Our Caregivers
Caregivers are the heart of Colorado CareAssist. Every person who enters a client's home has passed our rigorous screening process and received specialized training before their first shift.
CBI Background Checks
Every caregiver is screened through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation criminal background check system before hire.
CAPS Registry Verification
We verify every caregiver against the Colorado Adult Protective Services registry to ensure no history of abuse or neglect.
Ongoing Drug Testing
Random drug testing throughout the year, not just at hire. Families can trust that caregivers meet our standards every day.
DMV Record Checks
Caregivers who provide transportation are screened through DMV records to verify a clean driving history.
Dementia & Veterans Care Training
Every caregiver — not just those assigned to specialized cases — receives training in dementia care techniques and veteran-specific care practices.
$3 Million Liability Coverage
Colorado CareAssist carries $3 million in liability insurance plus honesty bonds on all caregivers. Full protection for every client.
Why Our Team Stays
High caregiver turnover is the biggest problem in home care. Most agencies lose half their staff every year, which means clients constantly meet new faces. Colorado CareAssist takes a different approach.
Competitive Pay
We pay above-market wages because better compensation attracts and retains better caregivers. Our clients benefit from experienced professionals who stay with the agency long-term.
Consistent Scheduling
Caregivers receive consistent, predictable schedules. This stability allows them to build real relationships with clients and deliver better care over time.
Ongoing Support
Our care coordinators provide hands-on supervision, mentoring, and support — not just performance reviews. Caregivers have a direct line to leadership when they need help.
Respect and Recognition
We treat caregivers as professionals, not expendable labor. Recognition programs, clear communication, and a family culture make Colorado CareAssist a place people want to work.
