Jason, the owner, came to meet us personally at the home of our loved one and was very generous with his time. But more importantly he "got" the type of caregiver we were seeking and did a great job matching. We needed to change or increase caregiving shifts frequently and he was accessible at all hours, meeting our requests successfully. The caregiver he assigned was excellent and both she and Jason exhibited positivity and great compassion for the situation and for our loved one.

I'm so thankful for Colorado Care Assist. They were referred to me by the in home PT group that my Spine Dr. uses. After a difficult 6 hour spine surgery, I needed some extra help and found them very useful and easy to work with. When you're in that kind of vulnerable position, it's great to know that there is someone who will be thoughtful and work with you based on what you want and need.

One caregiver was always friendly, nice, a hard worker, professional and on time-always is what is it expected. The first caregiver was a bad driver and we almost got into 2 accidents. The third and last caregiver was kind of pouty in her attitude and didn't want to clean anything after we got back from a doctor's appointment. Kind of sketchy. The office staff and Jason, the company owner were very nice and accommodating with scheduling and customer service.

The most amazing in home care service we’ve ever used! My grandmother is so unbelievably supported and taken care of by some incredibly equipped and kind staff. We have used other care services in the past, but she feels most comfortable (by far) with this one. So grateful to have found them when we moved to Boulder :)

My mother has severe rheumatoid arthritis, she has not been able to properly hold eating utensils for almost 2 years. We contacted many of the home care services and only Shawn and his company, Colorado CareAssist, were willing to help us help our mother eat. Shawn has provided us with not only one but two absolute angles, Connie and Debbie. They visit our mother during mealtimes, and not only help her eat but spent quality time with her. Anyone who is in need of getting some assistance for an elderly loved one, either at home or in assisted living, needs to give Colorado CareAssist a call before making a decision with any home care provider.

What my sister, Liz Shaw, said about Colorado Care & Assist and Shawn Heer is false. The only accurate statement is that she never met him. For the last several years her contact with mom has been sporadic, and she is estranged from other family members due to her hostility. When mom went to rehab in Sep 2017 Shawn’s company was recommended by the facility. Over the next 3 years mom received assistance bathing, cooking, shopping & housework several times a week. Mom has had nothing but positive things to say about her caregivers & looked forward to their visits. Liz visited mom when she was in the hospital in Feb 2020, first time she had seen her in over a year. As I was driving from Chicago she called and her only concern was finding out how much money mom had. When I arrived Liz said she would fight every decision I made, sue me for violation of mom’s DNR, get power of attorney & take over her care. She made slanderous remarks about me to visitors & hospital staff. Mom’s care was according to her wishes and doctor's recommendations, who said he could see why mom did not want Liz to make medical decisions for her. Liz said she would take mom home with her, quit her job, buy a larger home with mom's money with room for her adult sons, and charge mom a salary of almost $100K per year. My dad told me the last time he visited Liz's home she was living in filth and didn’t seem able to take care of herself. My sister’s idea was only designed to benefit herself financially, and of course I did not allow it. A few days later, while mom was still in the hospital I went to my dad's to spend the night. She called & said she was reporting me for elder abuse & sending the police to arrest me. Dad told her that she had no grounds, and would disown her if she sent the police to his home. The doctor referred mom to hospice before she came home from the hospital. Mom knew her prognosis & wanted to go home. I hired a full-time caregiver through Colo. Care who was very professional & kind. She did a wonderful job. Shawn was a tremendous help & did her grocery shopping, picked up prescriptions at the pharmacy, and even did some home repairs. Since mom came home, Liz has visited twice only for a few hours each time. She accused me of preventing her from seeing mom & changing her home phone number which never happened. Shawn was a witness to Mom signing a letter terminating my sister's general power of attorney according to mom's wishes. Liz called the caregiver and accused her of accepting money to make mom sign, threatened to sue & get her fired. She also claimed she has been unable to visit because she has been caring for COVID patients for the past year. While admirable, if true, it does not explain her pre-pandemic periods of desertion. The caregiver told Liz to stop harassing her & considered taking legal action if she continued. In August Mom moved to the Cascade House because she can no longer afford 24-hr at-home care. It is a small home with 8 residents run by Colorado Care & Assist. The staff is very friendly & helpful. Everyone has their own room which they can decorate as they choose. Shawn was there when she moved and continues to visit with her on a regular basis. I was able to bring mom’s pictures & other personal items. Shawn allowed me to stay overnight in one of the vacant rooms while I visited. He helped make the transition much easier for mom. The nurses from hospice visit each week and said mom is content and well cared for. Liz knows where mom is but has not visited the home or called and talked to mom or any staff. My family and I truly appreciate everything Shawn has done for mom. My sister has only made this entire situation more difficult for everyone, including mom. She has no one else to blame but herself for ignoring mom and her estrangement from our family.

I landed on this company for my dad after 3 companies failing to take good care of him. David came out first to train with me and got down my dad's routine. Then he became the trainer and assisted every single new caregiver that came to care for him. This was the only company to properly train with myself and with my dad's physical therapist. And therefore, the only company that successfully transferred my dad gently and safely every time. A few of the caregivers became true companions for my dad and are still in contact with him to this day (he is now in assisted living). The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because some of the caregivers no-call, no-showed and I then had to take off of work to care for my dad myself. They did not seem to have an excess of employees to cover shifts in this situation. However, nothing but good things to say otherwise! I would recommend them to anyone!

We went through three home care companies before we came across Colorado CareAssist. The other companies couldn't be relied on to provide consistent service for our Mom, who was dying of ALS. It's a difficult challenge given the competition for staffing here in Colorado, especially with the marijuana business. Often, we got PCPs that didn't really care, weren't trained, or had personal problems, and we'd have to send them home for fear of Mom getting injured or mistreated. However, Colorado CareAssist's Shawn and his management staff were largely able to work around the limitations of this industry and still give Mom excellent care in her last few months. Colorado CareAssist was able to still provide services when employees' cars died or a giant snowstorm hit, which makes a huge difference in our household since a gap in care meant someone in the family had to miss work. Shawn also worked with us to match us with the best providers for this particular case, and Mom ended up getting loving care from people who really cared, when it mattered most.

We are so grateful for the weekly assistance from our caregiver who took my husband for an outing at the bowling lanes. It gave him time with other men and away from his usual routines. If you are searching for a sincere, kind and empathic caregiver, Colorado Care Assist is the agency to use.

I have used this company for several years. I have called on David Hart to help me as my multiple sclerosis has progressively gotten worse. He has been wonderful, his CNA‘s are spectacular. They were all very punctual, dependable and trustworthy. Over the last couple of weeks they came to help me on a daily basis. It was a stressful time, but having their smiles and attitudes made it ok. I will definitely use this company again in the future.
